Child and Family Center

The University is interested in bridging the gap between research and delivery of services to families, through co-location and collaboration between the University and NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center. The University of Minnesota Child and Family Center will provide mental health services and support for children and families. Led by Dr. Dante Cicchetti, the proposed Child and Family Center's programs will address the issue of maltreated and abused children. The focus will also be on studying how children and families function well despite being exposed to significant adversity/trauma. This information will be used to develop interventions that promote resiliency in high-risk children and families
