NorthPoint's mission is: "Actively partnering to achieve a healthier community." NorthPoint (formerly Pilot City) is a private non-profit human services agency serving North Minneapolis residents. NorthPoint aims to provide social services to Northside residents by assisting and empowering families with access to resources in social, legal, health and related services to help them achieve self-sufficiency. Rather than just offering emergency services to families in crisis, NorthPoint continues to develop programs and services that empower clients. Avoiding the band-aid approach to solving problems and treating the symptoms, NorthPoint is working toward treating the problems through intervention and prevention and targeted outreach.
NorthPoint provides clients with intervention services to prevent crises and restore stability as safely and as quickly as possible, plus ongoing support to prevent future crises. Clients are able to access our emergency food shelf, financial counseling, housing counseling, and other programs. If appropriate, they may also be referred to appropriate strategic community partners for mid- and long-term prevention of future crises and on-going support.
